Joanne Barker – Owner of The Fabric Bug

This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me, contact me, or otherwise use my services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control.

1. Personal information I collect

To fulfil your order, you must provide me with certain information, such as your name, email address, contact phone number, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering.

To enable an enhanced customer experience, and to enable me to provide products that best meet my customer base needs, my website uses cookies. A cookie is a way in which the website is able to identify a user each time they visit the page (identification is in the form of numbers and letters for each user), some cookies expire at the end of the session and others expire after a time period, or when deleted by the user. You may switch off cookies at any time on your browser, although this may then block certain features of our website and reduce the experience for you as a user.

The type of data collected by cookies may include items like the pages you have visited, the length of time on my site, your IP address and geographical location, how often you visit my website and any patterns in that visit. The legal basis relied on for use of cookies is consent, given when you access and continue to use our website.

I also collect any personal data that you give by consent, for example messaging me or commenting on posts, on social media platforms. This information is processed with your consent, which may be withdrawn at any time, and used to fulfil orders that you place, or keep you informed on products that may be of interest.

2. The legal bases I rely on to collect, use, and share personal information

I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:

  • as needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfil your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;

  • if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; and

as necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as providing and improving my services. I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest to improve my services.
